🚨exciting news! We have been given an amazing opportunity by the wonderful @thunderbird_farms to put two of our hives on their farms property. We can’t imagine the wild, robust flavors of honey that will come from it! @thunderbird_farms is located in the heart of the regions famous black dirt onion fields and houses dozens of acres! Unboxing 10,000 honey bees, unedited raw footage: did you know that I’ve been petrified of bees my entire life? My husband on the other hand is not and expanded his love of bees into making us a mini beefarm! Sharing this video of my nervous voice/talking took a lot for me and if I told you how afraid I’ve been my entire life and how close I am right now to this many bees! I’ve come so far and am head on facing my fears! I will say that my liking of these beautiful little girls has grown so drastically. I also finally learned the difference and that the aggressive bees were the ones to really scared me and gave me some ptsd from a few bad stings . Okay, rant over! Funny thing-I did NOT like honey growing up. We only had store bought, Sugary sweet tasting types in my house growing up. When we started beekeeping this past year, I told my husband I wouldn’t really be interested in eating honey but he can keep whatever kinds he wants in the pantry. Fast forward seven months later…. I’ve been using them non stop and became obsessed with our honey! The types of honey for each season come with such different tastes that just seem sooo natural! I’ve used it for marinating chicken, baking, most types of breakfasts and Morning breads! 🫶🏻 So far our most popular is the light colored spring honey…. Winter is coming‼️we are going to miss watching the little ladies daily while they do such amazing work! Today we had our first frost here in New York so we winterized the hives and made sure the girls are fully stocked with essentials. We were checking clusters with the @flir C3-x. This thermal camera helps get a good idea of cluster location without having to crack the hive and breaking any seals the bees have made. The temperatures inside the hive were 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Our precious boy Jax has quite the long list of issues that he’s dealt with for the past 5 years. After being diagnosed with spinal disease he temporarily lost his ability to walk and control of his bladder function. With that, we had no choice but to put him in diapers. His skin becomes irritated quickly from diaper rash and we’ve tried numerous remedies. It wasn’t until this past year that our little girls made us such beautiful beeswax and we thought what better use than to make a healing balm for our Jax! We created a dog friendly version which is full of beneficial properties for not only his rashes, but wrinkles and cracks! Our little girls truly are magical and create such amazing gifts 🐝❤️✨✨✨
